Mark Hines, Attorney-at-Law
Johnson County, Texas AttorneyMark and his family have lived in Cleburne for many years. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, where his father practiced medicine. At the age of 16, Mark became an Eagle Scout, an accomplishment he is still proud of today. After attending college at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas (where he double majored in Business Administration and Finance), Mark attended law school at The University of Houston.
After practicing briefly in Corpus Christi and San Antonio, Mark decided to move to Cleburne. His initial plan was to live in a new place, meet some new people, and move on after a couple of years. Mark’s plans changed quickly after he met his wife-to-be, a local girl named Lindsey. Many years later, and after two kids, two horses, two dogs, Mark is happily stuck in Cleburne and has no plans of leaving any time soon.
Mark is a Member of the Texas Bar Association and the Johnson County Bar Association. Mark is also a member of the Real Estate, Probate, and Trust Section of the State Bar of Texas. Mark also enjoys being active in the local community. He is the Treasurer of the Johnson County Bar Association, is on the Leadership Committee for the Chamber Of Commerce Young Professionals, and enjoys getting involved at his local church.

Kevin Maxwell, Attorney at Law
Professional & Experienced LawyerKevin graduated from the Texas A & M University School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan School of Law) in May of 2011, where he was a member of the law review and moot court honor society. While attending law school, Kevin had the privilege of serving as an intern for both a Federal District Judge and Federal Bankruptcy Judge. Since graduation, Kevin has primarily practiced in Johnson County, Texas, working for three and a half years for the firm of Lummus, Hallman, Pritchard & Baker, P.C.
Recently, Kevin and his wife, Stephanie, purchased a home just outside of Cleburne and adjacent to the farm his family acquired. As a result of this, Kevin is learning to run the farm along with continuing his law practice. Kevin and Stephanie have been married since 1988 and are working hard to complete their move to Cleburne, having temporarily located to Dallas to give their youngest son, Hayden, the opportunity to attend Dallas Academy.
In the spring of 2017, Hayden will graduate from Dallas Academy and his family’s transition to Cleburne will be completed. In addition to Hayden, Kevin and Stephanie have two older “children”. Kendall, their daughter, who will be attending North Texas State University, having completed her Associates Degree at Richland College. And Cole, their oldest son, who just completed his service in the United States Air Force and who returned home to help Kevin run the farm and to enroll at Hill County College where he will begin work towards earning a Construction Management Degree.
Prior to attending law school, Kevin completed his undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Arlington, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance in 1989. Upon graduation, he accepted a Financial Analyst position with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. While working for the Federal Reserve, Kevin also served as a Bank Holding Company Inspector and Bank Examiner during the height of the then existing banking crisis.
In 1994, Kevin embarked on a second career in the residential construction industry, beginning as a construction manager and progressing to a project manager for a large local home building contractor. Eventually, Kevin took the opportunity to open his own contracting company, and in 1999 opened Covenant Builder Group, Inc. Kevin grew the company from $1.3 million in revenues during its first year of operation to over $4.0 million in revenue. However, with the next banking and housing crisis progressing, and with Stephanie’s encouragement, Kevin decided to pursue his long-held dream of becoming an attorney.
Kevin’s background in banking, financial analysis and the construction industry has served him well since entering the practice of law. He relied heavily on this experience while working closely with Jim Hallman in his estate planning, probate, real estate and corporate law practice. Upon Mr. Hallman’s retirement, Kevin decided to join forces with Mark Hines to form the firm, Hines & Maxwell, PLLC, where he carries on in the same practice areas he practiced while working with Mr. Hallman.
Since coming to Cleburne, Kevin has been active in the Johnson County Bar Association, and the Texas Bar Association, and also serves as council for the Cleburne Economic Foundation. Upon finalizing their move to Cleburne, Kevin and Stephanie look forward to being able to join a local church and having the opportunity to become more active in the local community.
